RACE Pro Track Reveal #1: Road America

SimBin has unveiled the first track from the upcoming RACE Pro, Road America.

"Road America is one of only a handful of road circuits in the world which has maintained its original configuration of 6.515 km in length and 14 turns since it first opened in 1955. The track is located in Wisconsin, USA, halfway between the cities of Milwaukee and Green Bay.

The track has many elevation changes, fourteen turns, and a long front straight where drivers can reach speeds up to 300km/h. Road America is a very challenging track with high speeds gained on the long straightaways offset by hard braking zones and subtle turns that can catch out even the most seasoned drivers. Finding the ideal braking zones takes time and practice, but mastering these can help gain crucial tenths of a second vital in winning races at Road America.

One of the best known features of this course is a turn on the backside known as the "kink” following the 180 degree turn called the “carousel”. The “kink” is a wild corner that should be tackled with caution and respect as it is sharper than it looks, has walls on both sides and no run off. Start by braking, and then work up to just lifting as you become familiar with it."

That is all for now, carry on.

Sony Unveils Playstation Credit Card

Have you always wanted to show your Playstation pride while racking up copious amounts of unneeded debt? Well now you can! Playstation Blog has the details on Sony's new Playstation branded Visa credit card.

The card is decent by itself, but the deal you get if you sign up before December 31st 2009 is even better. Sign up before New Year's and get $150 off of a Playstation 3 console.

"There are a couple ways to do this. You can go to to www.sony.com/newpscard to get instant approval for your card, and an immediate $150 credit when you purchase a PS3 directly through the website.

Or you can go www.sony.com/getpscard to apply for the card and upon receipt of the card, use it at any authorized PlayStation retailer to purchase a PS3. The $150 credit will show up on your billing statement."

Looks like a good deal for those of you who are old enough and are in need of a PS3.

Midway Woes Continue, Stocks Face De-Listing from NYSE

Midway Games just cannot catch a break these days. First the publisher posted loses of $76 Million, then Shari Redstone stepped down as the companies chairperson, finally they were forced to lay off 20-30 staff, and now this.

Midway received a warning today from the New York Stock Exchange that their stock had failed to meet the minimum closing price of $1 over 30 consecutive trading days. The warning stated that if the stocks did not rebound, they would be de-listed from the Exchange. Midway's stock will continue to be listed at least for the next 6 months where they must get the price about the $1 minimum.

In a tough economy it is not a good sign to see yet another developer struggling. Hopefully Midway can get their affairs in order and turn the business around.

"Johnny is a very different character than Niko, with a very different background," says Dan Houser, vice president of creative development for Rockstar Games. "I can't go into too much detail on the story, because we try not to give away too much plot before the game is released. But I can say that the story will show you a different side of Liberty City."

Xbox Marketplace on Xbox.com FAQ

As most of you know, with the implementation of the New Xbox Experience comes the full Xbox Live Marketplace to Xbox.com. As you can see by the image to the left the marketplace is not yet active, but should be up and running Wednesday morning. (You can find it here). A FAQ for the marketplace is available via Xbox.com and we wanted to share some of the answers here.

What are the computer and Xbox console requirements for purchasing from the web?

* A computer with internet access and a web browser (cookies and JavaScript need to be enabled).
* An Xbox 360 console with internet access.
* A storage device for your Xbox 360 console. For example, a 512MB memory unit or 20GB hard drive.
* An Xbox LIVE Silver or Gold account. If you don't have an Xbox LIVE account, you can sign up for a free Silver account here.

Please note: The account holder must be 18 years old or older to purchase from the web.

How do I purchase from LIVE Marketplace on the Web?

Once you've decided on the content you want, simply click the Download to Xbox 360 button to start the purchase flow. If you are not signed in, you will be asked to log into your Xbox LIVE account. If you do not have an Xbox LIVE account, you can create an account in a few easy steps. If the item you are buying requires points, you must first purchase Microsoft Points and will be asked to provide your billing and credit card information. If you have enough Microsoft Points, you can simply confirm your purchase and the item will be added to your Download Queue.

How long does it take to download items to my Xbox 360 console?

Download time primarily depends on the size of the item and your Internet connection speed. For some connection types, local network traffic can also affect download times.

Are downloaded items stored on my personal computer?

Items purchased from LIVE Marketplace on the Web are downloaded only to Xbox 360 consoles.
I play games on multiple consoles. Where will my downloads go?

Content will automatically download to the first console you sign into after completing a purchase on the web. If you decide to sign into a second console and you have content in the Download Queue, the items will appear in the console’s Active Downloads feature and you have the option to download content to the second console. If you choose not to download the content to the second console, the content will remain in the Download Queue until you sign into your first console.

Content that you purchased and downloaded to the second console can be downloaded again to your first console using the Purchase History feature.

Please Note: Changing the download location does not change the usage restrictions on the content. Usage restrictions are applied to the first console the download is started or played on.

Where can I see items I have purchased?

All items you have purchased from Xbox LIVE Marketplace (including free items and items you purchased using your console) will appear in your Purchase History. Your purchases are grouped under three categories: Games, Game Demos, and Videos.
How do I download items I previously purchased from the web?

Go to your Purchase History and select the Add to Queue button next to the item* you want to download again. You can also locate items* you own in Xbox LIVE Marketplace and click the Download to Xbox 360 button to add the item to your Download Queue.

*Please Note: Video rentals can only be downloaded again using the console, and only if it is within the rental period.

Hopefully once the marketplace is available tomorrow most questions will be answered!

Metal Gear Online gets MEME EXPANSION
Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH reveals new MEME EXPANSION for Metal Gear Online
Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has announced that the latest downloadable content for its Metal Gear Online title for PLAYSTATION®3 will be released on November 25th. Entitled MEME EXPANSION, the download adds new characters and gameplay elements to Hideo Kojima’s hugely popular online epic.

The MEME EXPANSION unveils two new special characters, which are playable for the first time. Liquid Ocelot enters the fray with the ability to manipulate the Sons of the Patriots’ lock system using his Guns of the Patriots skills, and can also deactivate the weaponry of a targeted for within Metal Gear Online’s multi-player modes. Similarly, Mei Ling comes into play with three unique attributes, including the Trench Mortar weapon, Soliton Sonar capabilities, and the means to transfix enemies.

Three new maps have also been created, with the rough, uneven industrial elements of Silo Sunset, the dense foliage of Forest Firefight and a snow-blown deserted factory called Winter Warehouse available for the first time. The download also implements a number of new rules, which are also now available without the MEME EXPANSION update. A new ‘No Headshot’ setting allows players to attribute the same level of damage when shot in the head to that of a regular body shot. ‘Stealth Death Match’ allows users to compete with the stealth elements switched on automatically; while the ‘Interval’ setting allows used to practice and chat with each other within the battlefield, without their ranking or records being adversely affected.

An official Tournament lobby has also been created to pit players in battle situations where points are up for grabs and can be spent on the customisation of a character or on new gear. Likewise, a series of familiar humorous elements can also be used within the customise field, including the Crocodile Cap made famous in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, the Ghillie Suite camo from the same game, and an afro hair style.

Metal Gear Online fans will be able to pre-purchase the MEME EXPANSION elements for 7,99 Euro from November 18th, with a bundle containing both the new elements and the previous GENE EXPANSION update also available at the same date for 12,99 Euro. Users can access the new additions of the MEME EXPANSION after the official start on November 25th.
